What a Day!

Where to begin?!  This morning we woke up & everything was going well, then Hermione awoke & the poor little poppet's left eye was swollen, red & completely shut.  Now this had flared up at dinner time yesterday & we'd given her eye drops & said to her we'd see how it was in the morning... obviously it was no better so as soon as the doctors surgery was open I was on the phone to get her an appointment!

Cameron was sent off to breakfast club, Anneliese was sent off to a friend so she didn't miss nursery & I took Hermione off to the doctors - I was amazed that there was an available appointment so early in the day, that never usually happens for me!  We arrived in plenty of time at the doctors & had a short wait in the waiting room... I must say I really like the new doctor at our surgery (I've seen him a couple of times myself) he was brilliant with Hermione & introduced himself to her, telling her to call him Nick!!!

Poor Hermione has a bad case of conjunctivitis in her left eye, she has got cream to apply 4 times a day to her eye.  We have to bathe it with cooled boiled water if it gets all blocked up again, she was also told to stay off school for the next few days & to revisit the doctor if it doesn't improve or gets any worse.

We went to the chemist to get her cream, there was a short wait for the cream so I stood outside (getting fresh air to my lungs) & I am so glad I was... not only did I bump into my friend Sandra from school, but I also bumped into my old neighbour Joann which I was so happy to see as we haven't seen each other for ages!  I then bumped into another school friend Sue on the walk home... by the time I had got home my friend Clair was waiting to pick up her daughter Lily's birthday cake!

I then had a mountain of people I needed to contact... 6 to be precise, these things never take just a few minutes do they?!  In between contacting these people I had to go pick up Anneliese from nursery, make lunch, do some washing - it's just non stop for me at the moment, I need a break!!!

Before I knew it Cameron was home from school & it was time to sort the dinner out... here's hoping for a quieter day tomorrow with not quite so much to do!

ExCiTeMeNt OvErLoAd!!!!!

Just over 5 weeks to go before the final part of Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows is at the cinema, it's been a long wait so it so better be worth it... If you go by previous HP films though, they just keep getting better so it should be a jolly good show =)

Not only am I eagerly awaiting Harry Potter but I have got very itchy feet just waiting for the first part of Breaking Dawn to come to the cinema... Still November really isn't too far away I suppose??? Actually it is, just over 5 months away - Boooooooooooo!!! Still I am a tad excited that it is slowly creeping nearer, even if it is taking forever to get here!

Major excitement of the day though is that I have just seen the trailer for the long awaited 4th game in the Professor Layton series, you can view it here: http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/professor-layton-and-the-last-specter-trailer that's if you are interested in this series? This 4th game is a prequel & set 3 years before The Curious Village (1st game in series) & tells the story of how Luke met the professor & went on to become his apprentice. Now I can't find any information on the UK release date as yet, altho US should be getting it in Autumn after September - let's hope the UK get's it in time for Xmas, else I may just have to get the US version like I did with the 2nd game in the series!

But what is the best excitement this week??? It's Wednesday, which means it is now only 3 sleeps until Duncan returns from his fishing trip!!! Seeing as it was his birthday yesterday & he was away in France for it, I am baking a cake for his return & the children have been making cards for him... ain't we a sweet family?! I do hope he has managed to catch some fish now, he hadn't caught a single one on his last update to me - funny I had to hook a dead one from the pond, so I am one up on him!!! Lol =)

Lonely...

Well, I thought I ought to write this in blue... but for whatever reason even that won't work for me, I am feeling rather blue at the moment! Duncan left for work this morning just after 7.30am but I won't see him now for just over a week as he is off with the lads to France fishing for a week. He has been in previous years both 2007 & 2008 but the children were much younger then & a bit easier to handle ;)

He will be spending the week with Mark, Alf, Andy & Clive... I am sure they'll all have a great time catching mainly fish, maybe an odd duck or even a rat?! But it's so amazing how much I am missing him already even though today has not been that eventful, it's wierd!!!

I thought I better blog as I haven't blogged since March & already it is June - where oh where has this year gone?!?!?! We're half way through almost, I can't believe it!!! I suppose going to karaoke with my friend Elaine tonight might help me cheer up, but it won't be the same without Duncan doing it... I do love Funky Mike, but not quite as much as I love Duncan!

Trying to keep busy by planning a charity event I have coming up next month, it's almost as manic as cupcake wars although not quite so bad & doing it single handed I will have more time to bake & create, just organising all my packaging supplies ready to order for the event & deciding what flavour cupcakes I am doing... no spoilers though, so if you want to sample some you will have to come along to the event & purchase them! You can find out more about the event here: http://www.bellesboutique.info/

I am now going to have a little bit of chill out time with a couple of games of Bejeweled Blitz or Zuma on Facebook as the little lady has been out with a friend this afternoon & will be home soon & the older two are busy playing LBP2 on the PS3 - so I may as well do something I enjoy before starting the dinner etc!
